Museum of the History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

The Museum of History of the National Academy of Sciences was opened in 1989 for the 60th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences and is housed in the main building of the NAS of Belarus. Area museum exhibition of 250 square meters. m, in the museum there are about 13 thousand exhibits, of which more than 3500 presented in the permanent exhibition.

The museum exhibition presents the main stages of formation and development of Academic science in Belarus, history of the formation of modern organizational structure of the Academy of Sciences, achievements and the results of scientific and technological activities of its scientists and organizations, stages of academic research schools in the field of natural, technical, medical, humanitarian, social and other sciences. The Museum also presents materials on the organization of science in Belarus since the beginning of the XX century, since the establishment of the Institute of Belarusian Culture (Inbelkult). Separate sections of the exhibition are devoted to governance issues in science and international scientific and technological relations.
