Description
DOSAAF History Museum was opened on October 12, 1982 in Republican House of DOSAAF. It is the only one of the kind museum in the post-Soviet states. The museum is located in 4 halls, its exposition includes more than 2 thousand exhibits that comprehensively reveal the glorious history of the Defense Society of Belarus.
On June 27, 1990, the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the BSSR awarded the DOSAAF Museum the title of "People's" for the enormous work of the museum in collecting and preserving the historical heritage, its contribution to the patriotic, civil and moral-political education of the younger generation. On August 17, 2015 DOSAAF History Museum confirmed the title of "People's" museum.Also the museum of the history of DOSAAF museum was awarded with Certificates of Honor of a number of ministries and departments of the Republic of Belarus, public organizations for the work of the museum. Especially the work on patriotic education of youth, propaganda of history was noted.
In the halls of the museum meetings are held with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers-internationalists, veterans of labor and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, famous athletes; seminars-classes, methodical gathering.
Exposure
The history of the first military-patriotic organizations and their activities in 1918-1951 Numerous historical materials, documents and photographs, combat awards and personal belongings of the defensemen of the defense society and other exhibits tell about the creation of the Society are placed in the hall. In the hall models of military equipment of the prewar and military periods are presented.
The followers of «Osoaviakhim» 1951-2018 Еxhibit reveals the work of the DOSAAF BSSR, a number of leading district, city organizations of DOSAAF, inter-district organizations of BelOST.
