In the XVIth century, a beautiful gentry lived in Minsk. Every day there were matchmakers in the beautiful house. The obstinate girl refused to everyone, considering the suitors unworthy. Stately, young, but poor nobleman fell in love with panenku. For a long time he sought the heart of a beautiful woman, but she was adamant. She said that the poor she did not need. Once, having come once again to the gentry with the matchmakers, he saw her in the arms of an ugly, but rich citizen. The young man did not contain anger. Having waited while the contender leaves, he made the way to the house, grabbed the girl and drowned in Svisloch.
Soon, a charming mermaid appeared in the river, and on moonlit nights she invited men into the water and drowned them in deep pools.
