Description

Manor in village Nadneman – a monument of architecture of a neogothic style with lines of the Neorenaissance. A monument of farmstead architecture of a XIX-th century, a patrimonial estate of the known scientist-physicist in all Europe Jakuba Narkevich-Iodko, a place where in the end of a XIX-th century the meteorological station first in Belarus has been created.

In 1823 to year during sale the earths of Radzivill which were not entering in Nesvizhsky ordination,  Onufry Narkevich-Iodko Has got a manor of Malyskovshchina. After suppression of revolt 1830-1831 Onufry has been sentenced to a life imprisonment in the manors that has forced it to be engaged in an accomplishment of new manor. First of all there was a question on house building. In Malyskovshchine in the middle of a XVIII-th century by order of Radzivill has been constructed huge for those times two-storeyed brovar – brewery. It worked at the best on third of the capacity, therefore the new owner of a manor has decided to reconstruct old бровар under a palace. More than ten years went civil work and have come to the end only by 1840 – already at son Onufrija, Ottone.

Because of that that the palace building was under construction on the basis of an old industrial construction, it has turned out absolutely unusual. Lines of the zamkovo-serf of style with elements of a medieval gothic style that was promoted by powerful walls old brovar have been given it. To give compositions of a palace ease, architects have added two towers – the six-sided and tetrahedral form. The second tower – height of 27 meters – was visible from apart. The palace building has been built by a straight line along Neman, along a facade the high and wide terrace with two lateral ladder cascades lasted. After palace construction Otton Narkevich-Iodko has decided to change the name of Malyskovshchina for more harmonious and romantic Nadneman.

Son Ottona Jakub who was known to all European scientific community became the following owner of a manor of Nadneman. In cellars of the palace in Nadnyomane Jakub conducted researches in physics and electricity areas, therefore the French newspapers of the end of a XIX-th century named it «the electric person».

Jakub Narkevich-Iodko equipped in Nadnemane the first in territory of Belarus meteorological station which has been included in structure of the main physical observatory of the Russian empire. On gallery of the highest tower of a palace the scientist has established so-called ”Aeolian harp” – a number of pipes which at flaws published different sounds. Jakub Narkevich-Iodko was very many-sided person: he successfully was engaged not only the physics, but also medicine, biology, music, at it in Nadnyomane had been put the new park which rests were saved about one today.

The son of scientist Konrad was last full owner Nadnyomana, which has moved to Krakow in 1921 when to remain in a manor became life-threatening. The new power has approached to manor plunder thoroughly: somewhere the scientific equipment, books from library, personal property of owners has been taken out. Officially the equipment and books have been passed certain to ”republic scientific institutions», and other property has sunk into oblivion. From all riches the magic image saved only a chair which now is in Bridle museum of local lore. Before the Second World War in a palace the children”s sanatorium took place. During war guerrillas have blown up a palace that Germans haven”t placed here the staff. In 1994 grandnephew Jakuba Narkevicha-Iodko Christian Narkevich-Lejn who lives in Chicago and is the owner of a museum of architecture and design, tried to begin on own money palace restoration in Nadnyomane. However local authorities didn”t hasten with the beginning of works. In 1995 the rests of the main tower on which once there was an Aeolian harp have failed. Local residents said that it was blown up by a certain criminal authority which very much wanted to receive a site under building in a picturesque Neman flood plain, and the architecture monument disturbed to it. For today ruins of the central part of a palace and entrance brama were saved only.
