Description

Uspenskaya сhurch in Novyj Sverzhen - a monument of baroque architecture. It was built in 1590 from wood, as an orthodox church, but was rebuilt as a uniate church in the early XVII century.

The rectangular plan comes to the end with one altar apse, also a rectangular outline. The apse from two parties is adjoined by low side-altars. The main facade of church is presented by a high tower composition - three-storied, square in the plan, the monumental tower-belfry is topped by a figured baroque dome-helmet (XVIII century). The second tier tower is broken vertically elongated shallow niches with tsirkulnymi completion.

In the interior of the church kept a miraculous image of Madonna. The first recorded miracle of Madonna occurred 22 March 1638.
