History
The journey of this future industry giant began on June 4, 1924, in Gomel with the establishment of a small enterprise named «Prosveshchenie», which initially produced caramel, marmalade, and toffee. In 1931, the factory received the name «Spartak», under which it made its mark in history. Despite destruction and a production halt during the Great Patriotic War, the factory was rebuilt and quickly ramped up its capacity. In just one post-war decade, over 40 new products were introduced, including the famous «Aeroflotskiye» candies and the «Gomelsky» cake.
Production
The production facilities of the Spartak factory represent a modern high-tech complex where lines for producing chocolate, cookies, caramel, and wafers are almost fully automated. A particular point of pride is the preserved primary chocolate production, which sets Spartak apart from many manufacturers. Everything starts with select cocoa beans that undergo thorough cleaning and sorting, followed by thermal processing at 135–150°C and crushing. The resulting cocoa nibs are ground into cocoa mass, from which two key components are extracted through pressing — cocoa butter and cocoa powder.
Thanks to complete control over every stage — from bean to finished product — the factory creates a wide variety of confectionery items with a unique and recognizable taste. This approach allows Spartak to consistently deliver high quality and maintain consumer trust over the decades.
