For sports and leisure activities of students and staff of the University has a track and field stadium, gym and game rooms, swimming pool, soccer fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and sports camp at the lake Drivyaty - one of the most beautiful places in Belarus.
University of Physical Education - one of the oldest higher educational institution of the republic. Founded in 1937 year, originally it was called the Institute of Physical Education and a long time, was located at the Yakub Kolas square. University of Physical Education prepares teachers, coaches, managers, sports and tourism. Today, there are three academic departments: the mass sports, sports pedagogy, sports and types of martial arts. Many graduates of the University have been known in the country and outside the Athlete: Olympic Champion Alexander Medved, V. Sidyak, V. Scherbo, S. Bragin, E. Belova, P. Klim, W. Kaminsky and others.
