Privokzalnaya Square adjoins the railway station Minsk-passenger and, besides, includes Centralny bus station, a complex of buildings of the Belarusian state university and also «Gate of Minsk».
«Gate of Minsk» or a tower «twins» are constructed in 1953 on the project of the architect from Leningrad Boris Rubanenko. Experts put forward several versions of style of construction: most rasprotroyeno opinion that all this Stalin classicism. However there is a version and about the national and Soviet style of gate. They are built to 11 floors and located on corners of 5-storey houses. On one of them - hours, and on another – the cast coat of arms of BSSR. «City gate»– the first that is seen by guests of the capital, leaving the railway station. They became the hallmark of Minsk – decorate a set of magnets and cards.
The station square in the 1870th years before the station of the Libavo-Romensky railroad began to be formed. There was a picturesque building from a red brick with two characteristic turrets at a main entrance.
The station in 1940 was considerably reconstructed. Volume was increased significantly and modernized «development of classical heritage» according to practice. The Vilensky station from a red brick turned into the powerful dark gray building for 50 years.
In the 1980th years the composition of the area was added by a skyscraper of Express hotel. The station came to critical condition by then, and its work was stopped – the building was demolished in the 1991st.
Due consideration and large sums were given to construction of the new building of the railway station. In 2001 Privokzalnaya Square was decorated by the modern complex built on the project of architects Victor Kramarenko and Mikhail Vinogradov. With the new building also the set of infrastructure facilities appeared: shops, banks, close – Shopping center of «Galileo». The last united the areas of shopping center with Centralny Bus station.
By the way, be not surprised if the area is desert - there is also area «clone»- underground. There also shops, cafe and numerous transitions - there the main passenger traffic are concentrated. Without coming from the Lenin Square metro station to a surface it is possible to get directly on the platform to the going train and vice versa... Above only taxi stands and bus-stops... For reference - one of exits of the Lenin Square subway will bring you on the main square of the capital - Independence Square...
