Rite Peranos Mikhailovskaya svyachiy (November 21, 2025)

The Michael\'s Candle is an ancient ritual that is still carefully preserved in the village of Velyatichi. It includes not only the candle itself, but also an icon of St. Michael, decorated with a towel, and in recent years, a large wooden cross.

The candle is kept in turn in the houses of seven residents of Central Street: each year its «path» continues to a new house. On St. Michael\'s Day, a ceremonial transfer of the candle takes place - an event that brings together the entire village. Residents pray together, celebrate tradition and share the festive mood.

This ritual not only preserves the connection between generations, but also unites people, creating an atmosphere of warmth and community.
