In the agro-town of Belaya Dubrova, Kostyukovichi district, a regional holiday is taking place, which has become a kind of brand of the Kostyukovichi district «Gusinae Svyataya» is a one – of-a-kind celebration that has a long history.
The tradition of this national holiday has been led for a long time. The local residents have always raised geese, willingly and in large quantities. These birds can still be found almost every private farmstead. According to beliefs, geese here are a symbol of wealth and well-being. In gratitude to them, three years ago, a special art object was even installed in Belaya Dubrovka.
The main characters are geese. The eventful program of the holiday includes:
- games and contests;
- ceremonial and theatrical performances;
- performance of amateur art groups of the district.
The main event of the holiday is the \\"Goose Division\\" ceremony and spectacular goose races, with live birds that will compete in speed over a distance of 15 meters. There is an exhibition and sale of decorative and applied art products, where you can buy goods from regional craftsmen and artisans!
