XVIІ International Festival of Sacred Music «God Almighty»

XVIІ International Festival of Sacred Music «God Almighty» will take place from the 29th of June till the 3rd of July 2010 in Mogilev.

The festival is oraganized by Mogilev regional executive committee and Mogilev city executive committee. The main purpose of the festival is to support the spiritual culture on the Christian tradition, unity and mutual spiritual enrichment through music, to support programs aimed at the aesthetic education of the youth. .

The festival includes vocal and choral competition.

Choirs (academic choirs, academic vocal ensembles) and the soloist-vocalist residing in the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries are invited to take part in the competition. Competition consists of qualification stages (held distantly) and the final stage.

Results of the final stage of the competition are assessed by the international jury keeping to the following criteria:

• choral, vocal performance skills;
• stage skills;
• spiritual content of the program.

To participate in the competition the choirs must have repertoire of only spiritual content. The program should include a choir performance of at least 50 percent of the works of the region, from where the choir arrived. The participants are supposed to be able to sing a song by N. Ravenskikhand N. Arsenyeva "God Almighty" (in the Belarusian language to participate in the general choir). The programmes, represented by the choir groups will be no longer than 20 minutes.
