Carols in Strochitsy

Museum of Folk Architecture and Life Strochitsy invites on Christmas Carols, where every guest will be able to dip into the past of the Belarusian village and take part in the ancient ritual event.

Christmas Carols - an ancient pagan ritual with mummers and songs representing incarnation of the change of the annual cycle, the winter solstice, the sun transition from winter to the fly. Celebration of Christmas Carols its fun and optimism expressed faith of the Gentiles in inevitability of the victory of good over the forces of evil began. To help win and Kalyada ward off evil spirits lit bonfires, sang and danced around them.

From December 15 to January 20, the museum offers a unique opportunity Strochitsy try on the image Kolyadovschika, to witness the \"death\" and \"ozhivaniya\" Goats - A symbol of renewal of life-giving forces of nature, learn about the traditions and characteristics KOLYADA celebration in Belarus, treat yourself ritual dish - kutey.
