Excursions in the Polesye State Radiation and Ecological Reserve

Specialists of the Belarusian excursion portal Ekskursii.by were among the first to go on an unusual tour of the Polesye State Radiation and Ecological Reserve to see for themselves how the former settlements left by people more than 30 years ago as a result of the Chernobyl accident look like today, and also to visit the forests intact by the Polesye forests.

During the tour, you will be able to see the former settlements of Savichi and Solnechny, visit the district museum in the city of Khoiniki, as well as the departmental museum of the Polesye State Radiation and Ecology Reserve and get acquainted with the history of the nature of the reserve, the radiological situation, the diversity of the animal and plant world. One of the most interesting points on the route is the active bison nursery, which is home to about 150 individuals of this magnificent animal species.
