Legend "Svisloch and Menesk"

Once upon a time there lived a daughter of Vodyanoy - Svisloch. She was famous for her unearthly beauty, and Perun himself and Zhizhel sought her location. But she was disobedient, she laughed at the groom, and once offered them to taste the stone wedding cake. And in the end, she paid for her character - she was left all alone.

Her father regretted and offered to look for a bridegroom not among the gods, but among people. Maybe not one of them will be scared to try her stone cake. Then a temple was built on Waterfront of the Svisloch: at the place where Perun and Zhizhel were wooing, an oak grew and there was a fire. And people began to go there, and his daughter went out for a brave and strong man. It was knyaz Menesk, who did not crack the stone cake, but built a water-mill, the grind of which was crushed by more than one boulder. And then he founded a fortress city on the banks of the river, calling it his own name.
