History of the development
At the beginning of the XVIII century Zaose belonged to the Chechotov family, and in the middle of the XVIII century it passed to the possession of brothers Michael and Jozef Yanovich. However, not being able to pay off the debts, the brothers were forced to transfer their possessions to the Mitskevicz family, who in 1785 became its full owners. The village Zaose gained fame thanks to the well-known representative of this family, the Belarusian-Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz.
Tourism potential
The main attraction of the village is Museum-manor of the Mickiewiczes «Zaose». The manor was completely reconstructed in the early 1990s and now functions as a memorial of A. Mickiewicz. Since the days of the famous poet, only an old linden and a small pond have remained here. A visit to this place will be very interesting also to get acquainted with the Belarusian ancient culture and life, and the beauty of nature and fresh air will complement the wonderful atmosphere.
