The history of the Zaosie estate
The first mentions of Zaosie date back to 1775. At that time, nobleman Jozef Mickiewicz, a relative of the great poet, won a court case that granted him ownership of the Zaosie estate. However, the family could only settle there three years later, after lengthy legal disputes.
The Adam Mickiewicz Museum-Estate
In 1998, a museum was opened in Zaosie, recreating the atmosphere of an 18th-century noble estate. Visitors can see wooden buildings with thatched roofs, the main single-story house, a bathhouse, a barn, a well, as well as well-kept flowerbeds and picturesque groves. This corner of Belarus preserves the spirit of the past and allows travelers to connect with history.
Excursions to Zaosie – a journey into Mickiewicz’s era
The Zaosie estate warmly welcomes visitors, and museum excursions are based on the poem "Pan Tadeusz." The museum carefully preserves original items from that period, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of an old noble house. An excursion from Minsk to Zaosie is a great opportunity to book a tour and embark on an exciting journey following the footsteps of the great poet.
