Mogilev Bishops Palace
Description
Mogilev episcopal palace - a monument of architecture combining the features of Baroque and early Classicism .
It was founded by initiative of archbishop and educator of XVIII century,
writer, philosopher George Konisski in 1762-85 years by project of architect from Vilnius J. Glaubitsa.
The building is well preserved to this day and is an interesting monument of residential architecture. It is located so together with the former church
it was a single panorama, which reveals both the Dnieper, and from the Lenin street, overlooking the main approach to the palace. Perpendicular to the palace, creating an elongated courtyard housed monastic cells, which formed the Bishop yard.
The plan centered around the Palace lobby with grand staircase and trehmarshevoy oriented toward the Dnieper reception hall. The remaining ground floor rooms are allocated to the service. On the second floor there is a bedroom, an office and a library. Third, the attic floor was designed for household needs.
