Description

The synagogue on Shkolische was once the most famous Mogilev synagogue. It was built around 1910 on the site of an old, burned down the synagogue. The new synagogue functioned until the revolution of 1917, and then fell into disrepair. It is interesting that in 1918 one of the first decrees of the Soviet regime the synagogue was declared a monument of antiquity, and placed under the protection of the state, but in 1938, the last in Mogilev was closed for prayers and dismantled.
