Church of St. Casimir in Mogilev

Church of St. Casimir (Corpus Christi) - a monument of architecture XVIII - XIX centuries. Built on sponsorship od King Sigismund III (Sigismund III Vasa). It was the first Catholic church of the city and the first stone building of Mogilev. In 1634 in Mogilev it was 2 211 houses and only one stone building - the temple. The Catholic Church is also unique in that it is created in a major center of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
In place of wooden buildings (burned down in a fire in 1627), in 1634 was set in stone building. Erection of brick temple lasted for several years, since the late 20-s of XVII century.
In 1810 the church was rebuilt in the classical style. Brick temple with side porches, five-sided altar apse and two towers of the main facade. The volume of finished wooden dome on a low drum. Three altars were decorated with wooden sculptures.
Church preserved partially. Now here is the warehouse management of urban communications. The temple is a monument of republican value.
