Description

House in the street Artillery can be described as the most decorated prewar apartment house Soviet Gomel. Small study with an abundance of decorative stucco elements distinguishes this building from other buildings of the same age. And looking at it, you can learn stucco architectural decoration.

Unusual choice of the architect in the application on the facade of the house of alternation of different solutions balconies, using three types of rustication and panels, double and single pilaster. A former ceremonial entrances are emphasized by vertical rows of balconies, attics and arched completed - a characteristic element of the pre-revolutionary modernity. Therefore, this house is close to the pre-revolutionary aesthetics than to the strict forms of the end of the Stalinist style of the 1930s.

Trehpodezdny house, according to the recollections of old residents, was built for the leadership of "Gomselmash" plant. By the standards of his time he was considered very prestigious: a three-bedroom apartments are equipped with separate bathrooms. Another interesting fact is that in this house (built in 1938) a bomb shelter was provided in the basement. Unfortunately, today the name of the architect who designed the building is not known, but certainly we can say that this house is a bright and unusual architectural page chronicle not only of Gomel, and Belarus.
