Description

Holy Assumption Church is located in the village Selets, Berezovsky district, Brest region, Republic of Belarus and is an architectural landmark of retrospective Russian style . Orthodox church was built of brick in the center of the village in 1863-1870 instead of a wooden church, which was closed.
The temple consists of 4 parts: the bell tower with a bulbous head, the refectory, the main volume and 5-sided apse. The main volume is covered 4-pitched hipped roof with a bulbous dome 8-Octagonal drum. In the church are kept icons of the 18th and 19th centuries.
In the 19th - early 20th century, when the church acted brotherhood and parochial custody and two public schools (male and female) were organized. After World War II in 1945 Holy Assumption Church was officially registered by the Soviet government.
