Catholic church of St. Mary on Parafyanovo
Description
Catholic church of St. Mary has been built from stone between 1900 and 1908 on the site of the old wooden church. It is a monument of architecture in the neo-baroque style.
In 1963, authorities closed the temple, and in its place placed distillery warehouse. In 1988 the building returned to the church, it was restored.
The architecture is a two-towered nave basilica with a small transept. The space is divided into eight columns naves, the central nave and the transept are covered mutually perpendicular gable roofs with triangular gables at the ends. The altar of the temple completed by semicircular apse with a gallery and two sacristies. The facades of the church are decorated with profiled cornices and pilasters. The central nave is covered with a barrel vault stripping, the side aisles - cross vaults. Plaster bas-reliefs of the states of the Cross made in 1927.
