The Orthodox Church St. Nicholas was built in 1894 on the site of a wooden Uniate church in pseudo-Russian style, has an ancient and complex history. In historical documents, the church is first mentioned in the inventory of the estate of Postavy in 1628 year. In 1815, this wooden church was burned by rockets launched by students of the school. The building is temporary, rebuilt, the church was on the opposite side of the historic site. In 1886, the central part of Postavy burned. The donations of parishioners, as well as Countess Marie Pshezdetskoy (daughter of Constantine Tyzengauza) for one year the time the church was restored in the best shape, but their former size. Foundation of the temple was started August 1, 1891, and in May 1894 the church was dedicated in honor of the Holy Prophet Hosea.
New Postavy Church (from the words of his contemporaries) on the outer and the inner mind, strength and elegance of finish was a most magnificent temple in the district. Now the church is one of the architectural landmarks of the historic center of Postavy.
