«Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk» - International Arts Festival in Vitebsk, interstate, large-scale cultural action of the Union of Belarus and Russia. One of the aims of the festival - to combine the creative forces of countries with similar culture and a peaceful community. The history of Bazaar began in July 18, 1992. Its founders were three states - Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Interest in the first bazaar was great, which made it possible to become an annual festival.
In 1993, Slavic Bazaar took FIDOF. At the first appearance Festival flagpole flags of Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia. In 1994 part of the festival was first held in the building of Drama Theater named after Yakub Kolas, which opened a Center of National Cultures. They held concerts of national delegations, as well as activities devoted to the Days of Culture of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Bulgaria.
Since 1995, Slavic Bazaar was named «International Festival of Arts».
The festival organizing committee includes prominent political, cultural and arts of the three Slavic states - Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
