Description

The Jewish cemetery in Smilovichakh exists since the 18th century. However three centuries have left the mark – the cemetery in decline as there is almost no Jew left in the settlement. Many gravestones have considerably grown into the earth. However there lived in Smilovichakh once Jews with a world name. Among them both Chaim Soutine and Shraga Tsarfin – worldfamous artists of the Parisian school.
