Description

The Orsha Linen Mill started its work with a small flax factory in December 1930.
The further growth of the factory was facilitated by the availability of raw materials base in the republic.

Architects A. S. Fisenko and I. S. Nikolaev in 1928 - 1930 developed the project of the plant. Already in 1937 the first spinning, weaving and finishing production and auxiliary factory of the first factory were built.

In 1961, flax, spinning, weaving, and whitewashing of the second factory began to work, producing household linen cloths.

June 1, 1966 "Orsha Flax Factory" received an honorary award of the country - the Order of Lenin.
In 1972 the third factory of the combine starts its work, which specializes in flaxing, spinning and weaving with the production of thin household fabrics. The Dnipro flax factory, which produces carpet yarns, joined the flax mill in 1973.

Currently, the linen mill is take territory of 47 hectares. The products are presented in 50 different countries. About 5,000 workers are employed in the production of linen products. 25 thousand tons of flax fiber is processed by the plant annually.

Today, the enterprise includes 5 factories: one for the production of container fabrics of short flax fiber, two for the production of yarn and harsh fabrics of long fiber, a finishing factory and a garment factory.
