Legend "Nicholas Church"
Legends Of Belarus
A certain merchant, a Cossack by origin, driving past Brest, got stuck in the river Mukhavets. And he no longer had hope for salvation, when he made a vow to build a church in the city of Brest, if fate spares him. Miraculously, the merchant got out of the quagmire, came to the city, successfully sold the goods and fulfilled this vow, and sacrificed much of his fortune to build the St. Nicholas Church.
