The owner of Mir Castle Svyatopolk-Mirsky in May 1898 ordered to cut down the garden near the castle and dig a lake at this place. The trees were cut down in the spring when they stood in bloom. Since then, destroyed apple trees bring vengeance on people - every year a man drowns in this lake.
