Museum of folk architecture and life

State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life - an open air museum, which shows the typical construction and life of the Belarusian village of the late XIX-early XX centuries. The museum is divided into six sectors of the historical-ethnographic regions of the country - Lake District, Dnieper, Central Region, the Eastern and Western Polesie, Ponemon”e.

All exhibits are - house, churches, mills, farm buildings - the original: they are either sold or given to the museum. They were dismantled and transported. All cottages restored the interior is typical of the region.

See in the museum is that it would take more than one hour, if you want to get around the whole museum and visit all the points, at least briefly get acquainted with the collections.

The first open-air museum was established in 1891 year near the Swedish capital - Stockholm - Skansen village. Hence came the name of museums of this type.
