Monument to Marat Kazey
Description
Marat Kazey (10.10.1929-11.5.1944) - pioneer partisans during World War II, the Hero of the Soviet Union was born in the village Stankovo. In the first battle (January 1943) at the village Stankovo courage and bravery: wounded in the arm, several times went on the attack. Many times penetrated into enemy garrison commanders and delivered valuable information and participated in acts of sabotage on the railways and highways. In the battle for the Slutsk highway in December 1943 obtained the valuable documents - military maps and plans of the enemy. In May 1944, at the village Horomitskie Uzda district, Minsk region in a combat mission was surrounded by the Nazis, to the last bullet fired and, not wanting to give up, a grenade blew himself and approached the Nazis. He was buried in his homeland, a monument at the grave. From 1966 to Stankovo high school opened museum of M. Kazey.
