History of Creation
The history of Veynyanskaya Church of the Intercession of the Virgin dates back to the 19th century when a church was built in the small settlement of Veyno in honor of one of the most important Christian holidays – the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. The church was erected with funds from local residents and landowners who sought to create a spiritual center for the entire area. Over the years, the church has experienced various periods – from flourishing to closure during Soviet times when it was used for non-religious purposes. At the end of the 20th century, the church was restored and once again became active, turning into a place of pilgrimage and tourist attraction.
