History
The creation of the memorial was a tribute to the fallen soldiers and civilians whose lives were lost during the Great Patriotic War. Its opening in 1972 became a meaningful event for the local community. The composition of the complex was carefully designed: every element — from the burial mound to the engraved steles — conveys the spirit of the era and symbolizes the collective heroism of the Belarusian people in their struggle for freedom.
Architectural Composition and Symbolism
The complex’s architecture is concise yet expressive. The space is organized around a central mound crowned with a stele and a star — symbols of heroism and remembrance. The rectangular area is framed by earth embankments along which stand 19 three-sided concrete steles inscribed with the names of fallen heroes. At the base of one of the embankments stands a monument to internationalist soldiers, highlighting the continuity of heroic deeds. To the right of the complex lies a military cemetery, adding solemnity and depth to the site.
