Description

The two-storey building former merchant's house was built of brick in the late nineteenth century. The house is a two-storey square structure with a hipped hipped covering. The facade is decorated with the rhythm of the blades in the corners of the room - a complex vertical cornice with ornaments and crackers. The surface of the walls of the first floor window openings cut through the arched windows of the second floor are decorated architraves, pediments and ornaments. The entire set of decorative elements characteristic of the neoclassical architecture of the second half of the nineteenth century.

Today, no one really knows who at the time was the owner of the house. According to the testimony of old residents, the room belonged to the merchant Gilyuy (or Smolich). Before the revolution, on the ground floor was a hardware store on the second - living quarters.

Once the Great Patriotic War here a long time housed the District Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. Now - the revision of the regional newspaper "Loev edge." The internal layout of the house has not been preserved.
