History of Creation
The history of the Vileyka Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church dates back to the late 19th century when the Catholic community of the town needed a new, spacious temple. Construction began in 1906 and lasted until 1913. Despite difficult times, including the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Soviet period, the church has been preserved and continues to fulfill its spiritual mission. During Soviet times, the building was used for other purposes, but by the late 20th century, the church was returned to the Catholic community and restored.
Architecture and Spiritual Life
The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style, making it one of the most beautiful temples in Belarus. Its high pointed windows, elegant towers, stone walls, and decorative elements give the structure a majestic and solemn appearance. The interior impresses with its stained glass windows, carved wooden altars, and ancient icons. Regular services are held here, along with festive Masses for Catholic holidays. The church is a place of attraction for both believers and those interested in the spiritual and cultural heritage of Belarus.
