Obelisk «Minsk-Hero City»

Stela «Minsk - Hero City» - architectural and sculptural complex in Pobediteley Avenue. Opened in 1985 near the Victory Park. Architects were V.Kramarenko, V.Evseev, V.Romanenko, sculptor V.Zankovich.

Obelisk has concise form: the man-made mound towering 46-meter high stele in the form of Victory standard at the top of which is available framed oak branch star of the Hero City. At the base of the monument - a memorial plaque with the text of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the assignment of Minsk in 1974 year, the honorary title «Hero City». Near the obelisk rose the majestic figure of a woman with a fanfare in the hand held high. It symbolizes the victory and the glory of the hero city.
