Description

Komsomol Lake was built on the river Svisloch before the war, and the opening was to be held June 22, 1941, on Sunday - the day when the war began.

Today Komsomol Lake is part of Vileika-Minsk water system. Lake, river Svisloch, reservoir space invaders are interrelated and Zaslavsky reservoir. There, on the Zaslavl Reservoir, where there is a rowing canal, - the place the main training base water sports. Here, at the Komsomol lake, rowers are training. Belarusian rowers successfully perform at the world and European Championships, the Olympic games during several decades.

One of the most famous rowers of Belarus became Vladimir Parfenovitch - a famous athlete, one of the best Belarusian athletes of the XX century, three-time Olympic champion, 17 times champion of USSR, 9-time world champion. It was here, at the Komsomol lake, he took his first steps in rowing, the first steps in the sport.
