Steam Mill in Zaslavl - a unique monument to the production of flour in
the beginning of the XX. It was built in 1910 by means of a wealthy resident of
Mehedko - Savitsky. It is a wooden three-story building. First zhernovoi postavy
mills worked on the strength of the steam engine, the so-called lakomobilya, the
boiler worked on firewood. In the 30s lakomobil was replaced by a more efficient
single piston diesel engine, made by Polish factory «Perkun», and in the 50s was
installed the electric motor.
About 80 years old Mill dutifully served our customers, but over time came to
unsuitability. After restoration, it became the central object of ethnographic
complex historical and cultural museum-reserve Zaslavl, which even includes
zavoznikov house, barn and blacksmith shop.
