Archaeological site
Archaeological site (artefact) - is a place or group of physical sites that preserved the evidences of the past. It may be investigated using the discipline of archaeology and represents a part of the archaeological record.
There are:
- Burial monuments (burial grounds, necropolises, altars);
- Settler monuments (ruins of ancient castles, selishchi, settlements, caves, agricultural complexes, industrial complexes);
- Ritual and religious monuments (temples, sanctuaries, megaliths, worshipped places)
- Specific sites (treasures, shipwrecks, etc.)
